Adolph (A. L.)'s Story
Life - Went LSUNO (math maj.) for 5 semesters after EJ. Then worked several jobs, including 3 yrs. for Boeing at Michoud. Joined Army Reserve. Was in Civil Air Patrol cadet program during and after EJ. Was in the band all through elementary and high school, playing 1st chair clarinet. I started working in local bands on the weekends in the mid 60's, having taught myself guitar and later took piano lessons. Turned to music full time in the early 80's, preforming on several instruments. Formed my own band in mid 80's for several years. Began a one-man-band show in 1990, expanding on vocal and entertainer chops with good success and drawing from all the great music we grew up with. rocery stores to casinos. Currently not working due to health concerns. In 1994 I reengaged with the childhood passion of American Flyer toy trains I had as a kid, expanding my childhood collection and traveling to the Trade and Swap meets in the Northeast and Midwest. The folks I met in this hobby opened all sorts of opportunities to do my music show and bring the New Orleans sounds we grew up with. I have been with gal from WJ (class of '65) since 1970. No kids. Live near Ponchatoula now. These days my Faith life is most important and am looking to start Catholic discussion groups built around my DVD library on history, psychology and theology. ... great to see the smiles of my schoolmates who survived the craziness of being young in New Orleans.
